Fashion Fantasy Game rolls out

February 8th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

fashion-fantas.jpgMany people still think that gaming doesn’t really cater to the female community as most of the popular game titles these days tend to involve some sort of shooting or killing, be it normal humans or against rogue aliens who are hell bent on taking over the world. While the DS platform has made some strides in providing more gender-neutral games such as Nintendogs and Animal Crossing: Wild World (along with a slew of casual titles), you still get the feeling that games are meant for pimply-faced guys even until today. The Fashion Fantasy Game helps to change that notion as it offers a skill-building playground for tween and teen girls, providing them with an opportunity to step into the role of being real business owners.

The site does touch on various topics about the fashion business including throwing them into complex business concepts so that they can get a virtual experience on how the real life situation could be like, negotiate tough challenges and navigate a course to financial success. Gameplay includes information in the community-based activities and girl-to-girl conversations. I’m not too sure how such a game is going to go about its mission to “fill a void in the gaming world where girls are presently under served by delivering a game that promotes the learning and confidence they need to achieve economic success.” Economic success, eh? I’d say that the jury is still out on this one. One thing about Fashion Fantasy though – new elements are being added weekly, so you won’t get bored of it anytime soon.
