Major Minor’s Majestic March from Majesco
February 1st, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Majesco is certainly picking up steam where its games library is concerned, and the latest title to come out from the publisher’s doors is Major Minor’s Majestic March. This unique title will be released for the hugely popular (and largely sold out) Nintendo Wii console, featuring the return of the creative folk who are behind the PaRappa the Rapper franchise. I suppose this would light up the eyes of folks who lived through during that gaming era, as the title was something refreshing amidst a deluge of violent and mundane games.
According to Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco, “There’s something magical about marching bands that truly captures the imagination. The concept of leading a virtual band that’s reliant on your musicianship is a perfect fit for the interactive capabilities of Wii. The combined musical and artistic superiority of Matsuura and Greenblat make them a natural choice to deliver this innovative title exclusively to the Wii audience.”
The humble Wiimote functions as a “special” baton in this title, where you play the role of the protagonist, Major Minor. The baton will be used to keep tempo, recruit new band members while picking up valuable items in the process. There are eight different locations for you to march through, where each of these places come with their very own challenge in the form of hair-raising events. You will eventually be able to include up to 15 different instruments in the procession, including brass, woodwinds, and percussion. This title is tipped for a holiday 2008 release.
