Devil May Cry 4 demo coming early next year
December 10th, 2007 by Edwin in Game Previews
As everyone knows by now, Devil May Cry 4 is no longer a PS3 exclusive due to the initial slow system sales that have caused concern to Capcom, the developer for the said title. Hence, DMC 4 (as it is known in short) will be made available on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, and Capcom has announced that a playable demo will be made available as a free download sometime in early 2008 on the PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Bear in mind that DMC 4 has been rated M for Mature by the ESRB, so parents might want to take extra caution on what their kids are downloading these days.
The demo will bring gamers to the gothic-inspired supernatural world of DMC 4 all over again, where there will be a new protagonist known as Nero (not exactly the most auspicious of names IMHO) who wields the awesome power of his Devil Bringer. This demo will introduce different sections from the full game, sorta like a mini buffet spread of what to expect in the final release. Gamers will also be able to familiarize themselves with Nero’s unique abilities, hence cutting down the learning curve when the game is finally released.
Some of the abilities that Devil Bringer bestows include the ability to slam creatures to the ground, cover great distances in a single bound or even grab enemies while on the ground or in the air and pull them towards Nero to continue the attack combo. As for the Exceed system, it enables Nero to “rev up” his sword as if it were a motorcycle throttle and unleash devastating attacks. Needless to say, all of these techniques will need to be mastered if players were to attempt to even take on the mighty (and evil) Berial.
