EA announces Smarty Pants
November 16th, 2007 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
So you think you’re the house’s smarty pants who love answering back at whatever opportunity you’ve got? Well Electronic Arts has catered for folks like you with its first trivia game for the Wii, aptly named Smarty Pants. Go on and pick up this challenge, going up against your learned grandpa when it comes to world history, or see if your mom actually can beat your dad when it comes to sports. This trivia game makes the playing field level for both friends and family, bringing together age-targeted trivia with action-based gestures for a truly trans-generational game exclusively for the Wii.
Questions will be tailored to the contestant’s age, enabling friends and family members aged eight to eighty (I suppose if you’re still up and about at 90 you can join in, too) to have some bonding session and good, clean fun. Playing in Friends Mode will see a rapid-fire competitive trivia showdown, while Family Mode sees players team up in a race against the clock. The game’s AI will be able to track everyone’s answers, adjusting to the difficulty level to provide a continuous stimulation and challenge to everyone.
Wii gestures make everything a game, from spinning the category wheel and tug-of-wars to “dance-offs” for additional points. Both competitive and collaborative game modes come with thousands of questions in multiple categories, making Smarty Pants a virtually endless game with a high level of replayability for everybody. If you live outside of the US, fret not – Smarty Pants will feature categories and questions that are fully localized with country appropriate content for UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
