Super Mario Galaxy leaked
October 26th, 2007 by Edwin in Games – New Releases, General Gaming News
…Or so it seems, according to some rumors that are fast making their way around the Internet. This is highly uncharacteristic of Nintendo should the rumor prove to be true, since the Japanese gaming giant is notorious for quality control and always keep their secrets guarded closely to their chests, pretty much the same way Apple does with their line of iPods. This rumor claims that an EB Games employee (disgruntled, obviously) decided to take things into his/her own hands by taking content from an in-store Super Mario Galaxy demo disc to share it with everyone else on the Internet.
While demo software is usually constrained by a 10-minute time limit, it is said that this disc comes with the full game, and is accessible via a modified Wii console. Guess those folks living in Third World countries such as Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia that have a poor track record when it comes to the use of original software might be able to enjoy Super Mario Galaxy there earlier than everyone else in the world, assuming this rumor is true and the leak actually arrives in the mentioned countries.
Contact with a Nintendo spokesperson for confirmation yielded information that the Japanese gaming giant were not aware of such a development. Do you think this is true, or just hogwash conjured up by an overzealous fan? Remember to avoid downloads of such kind should you stumble upon it – piracy stops with you, so make sure you purchase only original games!
