Novint has more games for its Falcon game controller
October 18th, 2007 by Edwin in Games – New Releases, Gaming Hardware
The Novint Falcon Game Controller was certainly one of the more revolutionary game controllers ever released in the world of video gaming, and this time the company has announced that it has already expanded the line-up of games to over 40 for the award-winning Novint Falcon game controller. Prices for these titles will range between $9.95 to $29.95, which means there will be a little something for everybody regardless of whether you’re a casual gamer or one of those hardcore types. It seems that the upcoming Falcon line-up will consist of AAA, classic, casual and best-selling games in a variety of genres.
It would be interesting to see how all these titles function using Novint’s patented 3D touch technology. Not only that, by releasing such games Novint does not need to rely on hardware sales alone as it can also gain some revenue from software sales. You can view the complete list of upcoming titles and their expected release timing and pricing at http://www.novint.com.
For those who have no idea what the Novint Falcon is, it is a brand new game controller that does away with the need for a mouse or joystick, enabling users to feel virtual objects, environments, and interactions including: weight, shape, texture, dimension, dynamics and force feedback, when playing enabled games. According to Marvin Maslow, a Novint director, “Once one plays touch-enabled computer games using the Novint Falcon, one can never go back to playing games the old way. It would be like going back to black & white TV or silent movies. Bringing the sense of touch to computing is one of the most significant changes in computing we will see in our lifetime.” I’m not too sure how true, although the game might be more realistic, when it comes to staying at the top of the heap, nothing beats a mouse and a keyboard where accuracy and precision is concerned. What do you think?
