Wii remotes get jackets now
October 3rd, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
Nintendo has extended their generosity (a move made possible with the Wii’s phenomenal worldwide sales) by giving out a free Wii Remote Jacket to all existing and new Wii owners. After all, everyone has heard of horror stories concerning Wii Remotes that actually fly out due to a broken strap during a session of overzealous gaming, with more often than not detrimental results to your newly purchased big screen TV. The Wii Remote Jacket will definitely go a long way in providing an added layer of protection, and it also doubles up as a covering that prevents you from dirtying your Wii Remote with sweaty and pizza-stained fingers as you and your mates engage in an all night Mario Party marathon.
This cushioned glove fits snugly around the Wii Remote, and according to Nintendo Marketing VP George Harrison, “We’re always looking for ways to improve our products and make sure everyone has a safe and fun experience. Many electronics manufacturers provide similar protective covers for products like cell phones, PDAs and MP3 players.”
You can expect to see these jackets to start shipping when October 15 rolls around. These are perfect for those who tend to suffer from sweaty palms that get more severe during an intense gaming session. You can always order one for free through an online form or call 1-866-431-8367 for more information. If you’re a Wii owner, would you rush to place your order or are you just fine with your Wii Remote as it is?
