Madame Tussauds unveil Master Chief
September 10th, 2007 by Edwin in General Gaming News
With the Halo 3 release date just across the horizon, it is no wonder that Master Chief, the main protagonist in the series so far, has received plenty of attention from the media. So much so that the Madame Tussauds Studios in London has come up with a wax figure of the man himself specifically for a Las Vegas appearance. Master Chief would be able to tower over most people, standing at an impressive 7′ 2″ tall and weighing approximately 275 lbs. It took 10 studio artists 892 man-hours to complete this figure, where the breakdown includes 687 hours for sculpting, 168 hours for molding, and 37 hours for painting. For those who love trivia, the materials used include more than 1,000 pounds of clay.
What makes this occasion so historic? For starters, not even the venerable rotund plumber Mario himself has residence at Madame Tussauds, making Master Chief the first computer gaming personality to be immortalized in such a manner. For those who want to catch a glimpse of this world saver will be able to do so at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. Master Chief will be placed at the attraction’s front entrance area, telling guests to “disarm” before they enter the door.
Ultimately, we all know the hype that comes associated with this game. Halo 3 fans will also be given the opportunity to purchase a vast amount of Halo licensed merchandise courtesy of Microsoft’s exclusive Halo 3 licensing agent 20th Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. What are you waiting for today? Here’s the perfect time to get your butt down to Fabulous Las Vegas, grabbing a shared photo with Master Chief himself! I wonder what would happen if Master Chief and Samus of Metroid fame ever met – would the right sparks fly?
