Europeans often get the short end of the stick when it comes to new gaming releases, and such is the case the new IM chatpad for the Xbox 360 that will see action only when September 7 rolls around. Unfortunately, the rest of the new Xbox 360 accessory range will be made available only after Halo 3 is released, including the Halo 3 wireless headset and themed controllers. This is purely a marketing move, trying to milk every single penny from your near empty pockets by riding on the hype known as Halo 3. I don’t suppose that’s entirely a bad thing – after all there are certain quarters (namely hardcore Halo fans) who would not mind waiting just a little longer in order to get a matching rig.

The chatpad can be picked up for £24.99 a pop – a fair deal if you’re one who does a whole lot of typing in the Xbox 360 environment, although I don’t see why Microsoft can’t just let gamers hook up a keyboard and enter all their input from there. Ah well, no matter how reach one might be, there is always an extra dollar to be earned I guess. As for the high quality Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo 3 wireless controllers, they will arrive on September 26th and retail for £34.99. You can choose from Covenant Brute and Master Chief themes, where either has been given the artistic treatment from maestro Todd McFarlane himself.

Will you be getting any of these just to ride on the Halo 3 wave, or will the normal controllers do just fine?
