Metal Slug 3 to hit Xbox Live Arcade
August 29th, 2007 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
If you’re a big fan of the Metal Slug series (I seriously suck at that due to my inability to dodge bullets, which means I tend to avoid shoot ‘em ups and genres such as this like the plague), then you ought to rejoice knowing that Metal Slug 3 will be made available on Xbox Live Arcade soon. Oh yeah, I almost forgot – make sure you have an Xbox 360 first before you whoop for joy. Word on the street has it that SNK will be showing off the game at the Tokyo Games Show (TGS) that will be held next month, so expect more juicy details to leak out then. This news is a breath of fresh air ever since the announcement of Metal Slug on XBLA was made more than a year ago, leaving fans guessing as to which installment of the franchise would be used.
While it is nice to see Metal Slug 3 make an appearance on XBLA, true fans by now would have found many other platforms to get their Metal Slug fix. After all there are plenty of other systems that can be used to play the entire series with Metal Slug Anthology, and Metal Slug Advance on the GBA platform ranks pretty high up there as well. Heck, even GameTap has virtually the entire series, with typically one in rotation on their free service. Still, I suppose if you insist on having it on XBLA, all you need to do now is sit and wait.
On a sidenote, the company will also be showing off Fatal Fury Special at TGS ‘07.
