Mama back with a vengeance
August 15th, 2007 by Edwin in Game Previews
Do you still remember Cooking Mama when she first made an appearance not too long ago? The title did generate a fair amount of buzz and interest, and I must say it did fairly well appealing to the casual gaming market. There isn’t a whole lot of strategy or thinking involved - all you needed was some fast reflexes and the ability to judge certain cooking procedures correctly before you unlock every single recipe there is available. Granted, I myself have fallen short in that department as I still have a fair amount of bronze and silver medals that need the Midas Touch. And I’d better get to it fast, at least before Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends are available.
Majesco will be bringing Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends to the US soon, and in this gastronomic outing, there will be an additional 80 new recipes for you to get your hands ‘dirty’, along with 150 different cooking procedures (hopefully some of these will be as easy as filling up a rice pot with water at the desired level) to keep you occupied with something light and casual during those long road trips. In addition, you get single card multiplayer games that was sorely missing in the original.
Interestingly enough, Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends also comes with the option for you to decorate your own kitchen (more sprites, yay!) as well as dress Mama up in her cooking best. For the sake of those who have not yet picked up the extremely adorable first title, hopefully the release of Cooking Mama 2 will see a 2-in-1 sale. It should be listed as a budget title along the lines of Brain Age methinks.
