Saitek is one of the better known names when it comes to gaming peripherals on the PC platform, and some of its most famous products include flight sticks as well as flight simulator accessories. While the company did not make it to the recently concluded E3 as an official exhibitor, Saitek still dropped an announcement concerning new products that will definitely appeal to a wide range of gamers. Although there are several delectable offerings which were announced, the most interesting of the lot surely has to be the Cyborg line of gaming accessories which adds a twist of console-like gameplay to the computer.

The Cyborg Rumble Gamepad aims to bring console gamers and PC gamers closer together, bridging the gap by coming in the form factor that is familiar to console enthusiasts who are trying to make the jump over to the PC platform. This bodes well considering how Microsoft has also attempted to foster closer ties between gamers from both camps under the “Games for Windows” initiative, and with Gears of War from the Xbox 360 being ported over to the computer, it would be interesting to see how PC traditionalists adapt to the Cyborg Rumble Gamepad. I suspect a mouse and keyboard combo still works best, but let’s see how the Cyborg responds to gameplay before dropping the mallet, shall we?

The Cyborg Rumble Gamepad features a “Precision Control mode that allows gamers to select the sticks and buttons on the controller that, when the mode is activated, are desensitized so as to allow for the most precision.” In addition, it also comes with the Cyborg module that can be detached, allowing gamers to alternate the positions of both the left analog stick and digital D-pad whenever the situation calls for it. No word on pricing or availability as at press time.
