Fashionistas to the fore!
June 26th, 2007 by Edwin in Game Previews
Fans of fashion are often a passionate lot as evident by the way they express themselves quite unlike ordinary folk who prefer to be more reserved in their mannerisms. With a slew of casual games that are already available and heading toward the Nintendo DS, it is no surprise to see Fashion Designer: Style Icon hit the news. After all, you already have games that train your brain with Brain Age and Big Brain Academy, while Cooking Mama ensures you cook perfect steaks every time without fail after much practice. Fashion Designer: Style Icon is pretty self explanatory, putting you in the shows of a fashion designer.
Targeting a November release date, this fashion simulator will help you journey through fashion school, where graduates will be given the opportunity to start a workshop to display their creations. In addition, they can also choose to accept design contracts, supply small boutiques, and even set up mail order companies. This is weird, but it is starting to sound like Fashion Tycoon or SimFashion should it ever be released under those franchises back in the days where video cards maxed out at 4MB.
There is no word on multiplayer gameplay, although the developer Creative Patterns have already given their promise on multiplayer. Get at least one more friend and you get to indulge in “design offs”, battling your friends on a virtual catwalk. Not sure how that gameplay mechanism is going to pan out, but it sounds something like budding Tom Fords would like to indulge in. If this is a budget title, you can consider me sold.
