Fatalities using Wiimote unveiled
June 2nd, 2007 by Edwin in General Gaming News
So far no game on the Nintendo Wii has truly gotten the motion control factor down pat, for one very good reason – it is virtually impossible to do so with so many variables in play. You have folks who have slower than normal reflexes, or kids who swing it way too fast, light shining into the Wii sensor bar, and plenty more reasons. The very idea of playing a beat ‘em up on the Wii might sound appealing at first (just like how Boxing on Wii Sports is fun), but do remember that fighting games more often than not require precise and exact controls for the best gaming experience possible. With Mortal Kombat: Armageddon making its way to the Wii, one can only wonder whether this title takes a step backwards or revolutionizes the gaming front. I personally think it will remain a failed yet endearing experiment. Midway has recently released the moves list for fatalities in the game using the Wii remote, and it is intriguing to go through it.
Take for example some of these moves:
Rip off Both Arms
Remote & Nunchuck: Both poke, Remote toward and Nunchuck away
Head Crush Finisher
Remote & Nunchuck: away then toward each other (clap)
Spine Rip Finisher
Remote: Poke, twist clockwise
Sounds pretty interesting eh? Hopefully it won’t translate to real life moves as you poke your opponent with the Wii remote, and twisting it clockwise for some plastic burns. And you thought that Nintendo’s consoles offered nothing but flowers and butterflies in their choice of games…
