Kratos slashes his way onto cellphones

If you’re PS2 has just broke and you are not quite ready to drop a cool $600 on a new PS3 just yet, you’re missing out on the hot action that is God of War 2. Fear not – Sony Online Entertainment has recently revealed some tasty information at the Gamer Day 2007 event which showed that one of the most exciting upcoming game releases won’t come with luscious graphics that the PS3 is capable of, nor portable gaming on the passable PSP platform, but instead on an inferior screen that is found on cellphones these days. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Sony is working on bringing some God of War action to your humble handset later this year.
While God of War titles on the PS2 have blown away many people with the gorgeous graphics, you surely can’t expect a semblance of 3D graphics on the cellphone. While you might balk at settling for 2D sprites in this day and age, you would be pleased that the graphics are still great enough by cellphone game standards without losing the essence of its console counterparts – most notably the bloodthirsty eviscerations. Players will find the controls to be dummy proof – all you need to do is move your finger around in the same manner as a joystick over the main key while controlling Kratos, and this middle button acts as the ‘action’ button. This simple control scheme enables you to jump, attack, use special moves, climb ladders, and splatter gore all over the screen.
Touted to be the first in a series of God of War games for the cellphone platform, you can be assured that your bloodthirsty lust for more gut wrenching action will come your way. While the game works on Sony Ericsson handsets currently, there is no word on whether other platforms and cellphones will embrace Kratos.
