Zelda DS Lite mod is jaw dropping
May 4th, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
Somebody hand me a thesaurus – I’m like, totally out of adjectives to describe this superlative Nintendo DS Lite mod. While other modding efforts in the past involving Nintendo’s all-conquering handheld console have been commendable, this Zelda DS Lite totally blows the competition away, putting it so far ahead of the pack that all you see left behind are grown men crying. What skill (or should we say madness) is involved inside the creation of this awesome mod? Perhaps it would help for you to know that the person behind this mod is the very same one who worked on the Zelda-themed Wii mod a while back.
This Zelda DS Lite comes in gold and black colors, featuring a metal die-cast Master Sword/Shield crest that can be rotated to match your handheld’s orientation. The magic doesn’t stop there as the shield is illuminated all around whenever it is receiving some life sustaining power from a nearby AC outlet or USB port. Thankfully for all your DS Lite lovers, this model is up for grabs on eBay at the current bidding price of $610. The only letdown in the entire design would be the rather ordinary looking stylus that doesn’t convey the Hyrule feel which the rest of the handheld console exudes.
Proceeds from this auction will be donated to Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play Charity, so if you’re feeling a little heavy around the pockets and want to offload some dollar notes, feel free to place a bid on this piece of beauty. There won’t be another one like it ever again, so $610 for a one-of-a-kind Nintendo DS Lite is a bargain the more you look at it.
