NeuroSky takes gaming to a new level

The Nintendo Wii is still experiencing insanely high demand despite its limited supply, as the experience of a new method of playing video games is just too exciting to pass up. NeuroSky thinks otherwise though, as it’s latest prototype gaming product doesn’t require the use of your hands in order to get immersed in the world of video games. Instead, NeuroSky is concentrating on its brain wave reading technology that might alter the way we play video games forever if the idea ever takes off on a big scale.
The prototype device from NeuroSky looks like a Darth Vader costume and comes with a brain wave controlled light saber. This same technology utilizes your brain waves to light up the saber, and when the player concentrates hard enough, the sensor will send the brain’s electrical signals to a wireless receiver located within the saber. All you need to do is then concentrate on keeping the light saber “on” in order to get a gist of how it works. The technology used is capable of keeping scores based on a scale of 1 to 100. Should your mind wander away, the lights will go out and you lose.
Do you think this technology will really be part of the future, or is it just a novelty? In one way it helps the disabled enjoy the same fun that others derive from video games, but there is just something about mashing buttons on a gamepad that brings an indescribable joy. I guess gamers ought to play with the NeuroSky in a soundproof room since any distraction such as the doorbell, a ringing phone, or even one’s mom calling you to go for dinner could mean defeat in a crucial moment.
