“Fans” set up mindless petition

dmc-petition.jpgYou know how we sometimes cannot let go of our favorite stocks due to the emotional attachment? This happens pretty often whenever the Dow Jones hit a new low, and you still see some people holding on to their favorite companies thinking that things will get better tomorrow. Truly truly I say to you, blind faith such as that often leads to a road of misery and makes one penniless. Similarly, a parallel can be drawn to the way some fans are reacting to Capcom’s decision of porting over Devil May Cry 4 to the Xbox 360 and PC platforms. Read on to find out the extent of this ridiculous online petition and have a good laugh (or cry) over it.

Quoted verbatim, “To: Capcom, we (The people that have signed this petition) feel very left out in your decision to make Devil May Cry 4 a Multi-Platform title, and hereby agree to boycott your sale of Capcom affiliated games. This is due to your decision to turn your back on your most faithful gaming company. For years we have enjoyed games, we have reaped the benefits of your committment to Sony. We find it absolutely demoralizing for not only the gamers, but also Sony itself. We want you to know that will not, and should not stand for your actions, and therefore withold our option of buying your product.”

I understand that Capcom feels it is impossible to recoup the costs of making the game an exclusive on the PS3 alone since the adoption rate of Sony’s latest console is disappointing to say the least, leading them to take this more lucrative road. After all, if you are truly a fan of the series, you won’t mind sharing such a good game with gamers regardless of the platform, do you? By boycotting the purchase of Capcom games on the PS3, this will most probably turn Capcom off (assuming a large portion of PS3 owners do so) and stop developing for the PS3 completely. Now that’s definitely something worth crying over.
