Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (FFXII:RV for short) is one title that most, if not all, Nintendo DS owners look forward to, smacking their lips in anticipation. The good folk at 1Up managed to grab their hands on a few Japanese mags that feature more information and ever delicious screenshots of the said game, and we now bring that information to our readers who are willing to sell their mother just to get hold of a copy of FFXII:RV when it is released.

In the game, your characters will be able to attain up to three different ranks which doesn’t sound like much. In reality, that ought to be more than enough as you also get up to 50 (yes, five zero) different summons to play around with. That’s a whole bunch of summons any way you look at it, and we can safely say that third rank summons are the big daddy of all the other summons. After all, the ability to use the third rank summon only once throughout each map speaks volumes of just how powerful it is. It is a no brainer that most gamers will save this to unleash it on insanely difficult bosses who have thousands upon thousands of hit points.

The airship also receives some new enhancements, and it is no longer limited to playing the role of a mere flesh transporter. The airship features a section that can be used to house in-game achievements that are idolized in the form of monuments. Hopefully there will be some form of connectivity where your friends will be able to hop aboard your airship and bow before your progress in the game. Last but not least, the Salamander summon has strangely been changed from that of a lizard to a wild boar. The last time I checked, a wild boar ain’t no reptile.
