Dance Dance Revolution mat for fingers
March 18th, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
When Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) first hit the arcades over half a decade ago, it definitely sparked a whole generation of rhythm-based games which gave gamers an entirely new genre to master. Some of them have gotten so good at memorizing all the moves, they even use both pads (16 directions in all) simultaneously just to show off their mad skills. If you think that your physical body is not up to the task (no thanks to those years of vegetating in front of the TV, watching endless shows, playing video games, and feeding off a steady diet of pizza and Coke), why not try a finger-based version of DDR? Since you’re using your fingers, it only makes sense that the entire dance mat will have to be shrunk to a size no bigger than your mousepad. The USB Finger Dance Mat is the gaming peripheral in question that we will look at today.
Using it is pretty much a no-brainer – all you need to do is groove to the light pattern by letting your fingers roam all over the mat in perfect harmony. For those who want a more authentic experience, this cute little gaming peripheral even comes with a tiny finger puppet that reminds you of John Travolta in his suave Grease days for a more authentic experience. Whenever the USB Finger Dance Mat is plugged in, the lights on the mat will start to flash, where you must then follow the pattern to the best of your ability.
Too bad this mat isn’t compatible with the actual DDR game itself. Imagine grooving to the classics on the entire DDR series with this, everyone in your office will want one to relieve themselves from those Monday morning blues. The USB Finger Dance Mat makes for a great boredom killer at the office, and it retails for £9.99. It is currently out of stock, but you can place an order and receive it as soon as April rolls around.
