Opoona talk

The Nintendo DS already has its fair share of quirky titles thanks to the innovative input system, and with the Wii’s motion controller, you can bet your bottom dollar that game developers will try to crack their brains on creating some of the most interactive games of this generation. Word has it that Opoona will be one of such titles in an action RPG genre. Players in this game are required to travel to different intergalactic colonies in hopes of attaining special licenses that can be used in tandem with specialized jobs, for example – rescuer, detective, and idol. All this must be done if you are ever going to dig deeper into the mysterious disappearance of Opoona’s siblings as well as uncover what was it that made his parents end up in hospital with more than just a casual scratch.
Opoona will have some big names attached to the project, including Artepiazza’s Shintaro Majima who stands in as lead artist and Sachiko Yukimura as planning director. Both of them are old hands in the gaming industry, being involved in quite a fair number of Dragon Quest RPGs in the past. In addition, Wii gamers will not be lacking on the musical front as Final Fantasy XII composer Hitoshi Sakimoto is in charge of music production.
There is no word on Opoona’s release date, but word on the street is Japan will receive this game sometime this summer. As for the rest of the world, we just have to keep our fingers crossed that this title will make it across the Pacific andsubsequently wait for localization issues to be sorted out.
