Female gamers in Japan get new game
February 16th, 2007 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Japan is a country that has spawned plenty of universal video game hits over the past couple of decades, and aside from that there are other gender-specific titles which strangely appeal only to the Japanese. There could be a couple of problems with this, where one of them is localization since Japan has such a unique culture while the other would be plain ol’ disinterest. For the former, people in other countries might not be able to appreciate the intricacies of Japanese culture, and the “Female Power Emergency Up!” game for the Nintendo DS is definitely one of them.
This game is meant to spice up the life of any young working woman over the period of three months, which means you will get at least a quarter’s worth of gaming time - something even long winded RPGs from Square Enix cannot achieve. What this title does is translate the essence of the famous Japanese women’s magazine, Anan, onto the DS platform. In this game, you will be able to feel the full power of being a female, encompassing different areas of a woman’s life such as Romance, Body, and Manners.
Judging by the screenshot, I presume this title gives you tips for the aforementioned categories in a digital format rather than on paper. Do you gals want to see a localized version? The premise sounds pretty interesting after all. Pricing details are currently unavailable, but it should not cost more than a regular DS title. All I can say is this is one of the more quirky DS titles to be released in recent times.
