iPod, Game Boy make out
January 22nd, 2007 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
What happens when you cross a classic Game Boy with the ultra modern iPod? Why, a Game Boy that plays tunes from your iPod, of course! The father of this machine which brings together the past and the present is sirljohns, who took an archaic Gameboy (the one that weighed a ton with its arsenal of four AA batteries), unscrewed the back cover, disemboweled everything inside, and carefully placing an iPod inside after getting some impressive wiring work done.
The presence of an internal dock connector ensured that the iPod inside was not harmed in any way. Is it an uncanny coincidence that the iPod screen is exactly the same size as the Game Boy’s display?
One tip though – it would be prudent to use a good pair of headphones to go with this Frankenstein of a portable media player, as the tiny speaker of the Game Boy just won’t be able to make the cut. For a more comprehensive look, head on over here to check out the Flickr account.
