PS2, Wii to receive more WWII goodness

ea-on-wii.jpgWorld War II is definitely a blemish in our history, but in the same vein it offers a rich source when it comes to storytelling. Electronic Arts will be returning to the era where the first atom bomb was used by bringing more Medal of Honor gameplay to both the Nintendo Wii and the PS2. There are already a deluge of such games, but apparently the market is large enough to cater for yet another release. Known as Medal of Honor Vanguard, this new electronic shooter will feature the battles that involved the paratroopers who were part of the 82nd Airborne Division, bringing you, the gamer, as close as possible to reliving the action on the shores of Sicily as well as deep inside enemy territory in Germany.

There is no official word on how the controls on the Wii will work out, but we are assured that it will take full advantage of the Wiimote and nunchuck’s capabilities when the game is finally released. Of course, Electronic Arts has mentioned in their press release that the game will feature “spectacular graphics” that adds to the combat intensity, in addition to a strong storyline that helped make the first Medal of Honor game such a hit when it was released on the PC approximately seven years ago.

Medal of Honor Vanguard has not yet received any rating from the ESRB, but we could be looking at a possible Teen or Mature score here. Avid gamers can look forward to Medal of Honor Vanguard when March 2007 rolls around. In the meantime, you can always check out the official Medal of Honor Vanguard website for more information.
