Lost Planet downloads hit a million
December 19th, 2006 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Looks like Lost Planet on the Xbox 360 has been nothing short of an astounding success so far, boasting over a million downloads over the Xbox Live service. This number consists of both single player and multiplayer modules, which another interesting statistic includes gamers racking up more than 300,000 hours’ worth of gameplay ever since the demo went live on Thanksgiving last month. Of course, serious statisticians would claim that this number includes those who have downloaded it and deleted it later, while a person could constitute for two downloads – one single player and another multiplayer. Not that Lost Planet is going to be a lousy game or anything, but after waiting for more than a year, patience in gamers will definitely run thin.
Those who have not yet downloaded the Lost Planet demo can do so via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Upon completion of the download, you can then take part in frantic online matches that support up to 16 players in total for each stage. To get an idea of how good Lost Planet is, the multiplayer segment picked up top honors at this years’ Leipzig Games Convention when it comes to Best Xbox 360 Game.
When Lost Planet is finally released for rabid gamers worldwide, it is widely tipped to retail at the suggested price of $59.99, while the limited version of the Collector’s Edition will set you back by another tenner. Each purchase comes in a custom-designed SteelBook case that boasts exclusive cover art, while the Collector’s Edition comes with an additional art book full of concept art as well as extra multimedia content.
