No Zombies Please… We’re German
July 18th, 2006 by Sean in General Gaming News
If you’re German then it looks like you won’t be playing Capcom’s forthcoming XBox 360 game Dead Rising, as it’s been banned from sale in Germany by the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (try saying that 3 times fast!), the countries videogames rating board.
It’s claimed that the game has been deemed to violent, which I guess is pretty true since it does involve hacking and slashing at zombies with a variety of weapons, tools and other household implements, including Lego men head it would appear. It seems this time the zombie card wasn’t enough, since several games, the most famouse being Carmageddon, have managed to gain a German release by calling the enemies zombies and changing the colour of their blood from red to green. Presumably it’s more to do with the fact that the graphics are now approaching a standard where they are too realistic looking, which was less the case a few years ago.
The game is set for release in September, unless of course you live in Germany!
