Guiness World Pinball Records

Addams Family Pinball
Are you a Pinball Wizard? If you’ve ever flipped a few balls around a table in your local arcade instead of shooting Space Invaders or driving Ferrari’s then you’ll be aware of the ridiculous high scores that Pinball games often have, with scores in the billions generally being achievable. If you’re one of the few with the reflexes to keep a good control of your ball bearings, then perhaps you should apply to the Guinness Book of Records new Pinball High Scores section which is to be included in the 2007 edition of the book.

Ten classic pinball machines are to be included, these being Kings & Queens (Gottlieb, 1965), Lawman (Gottlieb, 1971), Wizard (Bally, 1975), Captain Fantastic (Bally, 1977), Taxi (Williams, 1988), The Addams Family (Midway, 1992), Creature from the Black Lagoon (Midway, 1992), Twilight Zone (Midway, 1993), Scared Stiff (Midway, 1996), and South Park (Sega, 1999).

Don’t expect to get your score accepted just by sending in a photo of the machine displaying your initials. The Guiness Book of Records will only accept scores achieved on machines deemed in perfect condition and with standard game settings. They claim that no two pinball machines are alike, even when fresh off the factory production line, which is fairly obvious really. General usage of the machine will also affect the way the game plays, so all records have to be verified exactly before they will be accepted.
