Deanimator

I enjoy all kinds of horror films and games so I search out new ones to try. Bum Lee, an animator that is attending Carnegie Mellon University, created Deanimator.

Bum Lee got his inspiration from Herbert West: Reanimator, which was written by Howard Phillips Lovecraft and was published in Home Brew in 1922. It is a story of a peculiar young doctor with a weakness for experiments that involve bringing back the dead. The terror begins at the back door in part III.

You play the game as Herbert West but you only have a single revolver in the beginning and you only have six shots. The idea is to kill all the zombies before they attack you. You will have to use your mouse for aiming and for shooting the zombies. You click on the area of the zombie you wish to shoot. It is not a good idea to shoot the zombies that are farthest away because it does take some time to reload your revolver once you have shot six times. It is best to shoot the ones closest to you and preferably in the head. Use all your bullets wisely.

After you get past the first or second level, you will get a shotgun and even find shotgun shells. To switch between your revolver and your shotgun you will need to use the shift key. The shotgun will kill a zombie will only one shot but it does take longer to reload.

If you have some spare time and want to take a crack at killing zombies, you can try out this flash game
