Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
December 22nd, 2005 by Anita in Game Reviews
This is the second game in the series where Mario and Luigi pair up in a role-playing game. This time the game was created for Nintendo DS and is an awesome sequel to compliment the first Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
You will be in control of this awesome team Mario and Luigi as you return once to the Mushroom Kingdom. Of course, you must try your best to save Mushroom Kingdom. From somewhere out in space an evil race by the name of the Shroob has decided that Mushroom Kingdom would be a wonderful place to live since their own world is not happening as it once was. These wicked fungoids want to conquer and take control of Mushroom Kingdom. The villainous Princess Shroob leads them. There is a new twist to this game though; most of the adventures are in the past. You will find yourself traveling back and forth between past and present since they are endeavoring to inflict chaos on both ends of the time stream.
You will enjoy all the different places you will visit and all the new and unique characters you will encounter. Some of these characters include Toadsworth and Professor E. Gadd.
Not only will you love the adventures but also you are sure to love the cute Baby Mario and Baby Luigi. As you will see, their adventures are quite daring for babies. As babies, they will ride piggyback on their adult counterparts and because of their smaller size; they can get into many smaller areas that the adults just cannot seem to reach.
Of course, with all brothers, Mario and Luigi both have their own special abilities. Working together whether as babies with hammers or as adults with skills such as their propeller spin jump, Mario and Luigi will be able to beat Princess Shroob and her fungoids and save Mushroom Kingdom.

December 23rd, 2005 at 9:43 amI picked this up on holiday and am currently working my way through it and enjoying it immensely, although some of the battles can be a bit long-winded. It’s due for release in the UK in February I believe (along with Wario Ware Twisted for GBA, another cool yet delayed release)
It’s an odd mix of genres which works quite well, being part platformer and part RPG. The battles require some very nifty fingerwork on the buttons, since each of the 4 characters can come into play at any time.
Give it a try if you fancy something a bit different…
