My main concern is that they don't go overboard on the special abilities which you only use twice during the entire game.

Puzzle games tend to work best when there are fewer things to remember, with Lemmings being a good example.  A lot of the new skills in Lemmings 2 were near identical to the original Lemmings skills, which made them almost redundant.</description>
