If you liked SimCity before you are going to love SimCity 4. Not only can you build a city but you can also play God. You will be able to sculpt mountains, gouge riverbeds, and plant forests. As you are building, you will have construction workers all over the place, with traffic backed up just like you see on your way to work in the morning. You can choose to build a mansion on top of a mountain, build bridges across canyons, have the tallest skyscrapers in your city, and use all the resources available before your neighbors.

The excitement mounts because if you close off a volcano in one area it may just explode elsewhere. However, if your citizens protest and become unruly you can put up barricades and call in re-enforcements. As you make the decisions, your city will of course either prosper or die.

With this new SimCity 4, playing God has never been easier. Not only will you shape mountains, hollow out valleys, and plant forests to create your own world, but you will also be able to plan the disasters. You can set fires, have meteors crash down from heaven, create tornadoes, or even have lave pouring from volcanoes. The animals are under your control and can graze, roam or stampede right through downtown.

As mayor of your city, you will be in charge to build the type of city you desire. You can decide to connect your city with other cities, share your good fortune and compete for resources. You will command the police and the fire departments. Send them in any time you need them to control a scene.
