If you enjoy strategy games and have ever tried the Civilization series, you are sure to want to add this one to your collection. Civilization IV has more great additions that you can believe.

If you know anything at all about this unique and inspiring game then you already know that it is a turned based game. You should also remember that you play as a political leader of a nation such as Julius Caesar of Rome. You begin at the Stone Age and build your empire all the way through the space age with only one settler in the beginning to build your very first city.

You have several different options when it comes to dominating the world. You can conquer your neighbors and even research advanced technology to become the strongest nation.

The special traits that your political leader has is now “organized” or “expansive”. They will greatly influence his or her way of ruling. The strategy options in this game is much better than in previous games in the series. Your goals have more options but may still be a bit confusing for the beginner. However, it does allow more people the ability to join in and enjoy the game.

The combating part of Civilization IV has even changed to more of a strength system than a numbers game. The more advance your city is in the way of intelligence and technology the more power you will have over the more primitive ones. Your military units will earn experience points and gain power levels as they advance. Your artillery is now more precise and can bombard targets, which will allow you the chance to weaken your enemy before the out and out battle.

You also have more diplomacy options with the new Civilization IV. You can still be very nice to other neighboring cities and have the ability to try to influence neighboring cities, make war or peace with them; you can even close or open your borders.

If you enjoy any of the previous games in the Civilization series, you must add this one. Do not worry you will become addicted to this one just like the rest.
